Selen Akdemir is an architect based in New York, originally from Turkey. She joined Garten Associates in March 2025, where she continues to grow her career in architectural design.
Before that, she spent several years at Mark Anthony Architects, working on over 200 residential and commercial projects across Long Island. Her architectural roots go back to Turkey, where she was part of the team at Sabri Paşayiğit Design Office, focusing on large-scale, mixed-use developments.
Along the way, Selen also took on the role of Operations Manager at World Class Trucking, gaining valuable experience in leadership, logistics, and keeping fast-moving systems running smoothly skills that continue to support her in every part of her professional life.
Selen holds a double major in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul, a foundation that gives her a strong grasp of both design and structure in every project she takes on.
